Join Us in the City Nature Challenge! Are you up for a challenge? This year, Rancho Los Alamitos is participating in the City Nature Challenge (CNC) and we want you to join us! The CNC started in 2016 as a competition between Los Angeles and San Francisco and has grown into an international event while motivating people around the world to find and document wildlife in their own cities. Organized by the Community Science teams at the California Academy of Sciences and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHM), the CNC is an annual four-day global bioblitz from April 25th through the 28th, where cities are in a collaboration-meets-friendly-competition to see what can be accomplished when we all work toward a common goal. Observations are counted through the iNaturalist site. Download the app and learn from staff and volunteers on how to upload pictures from your phone of your wildlife observations. Tour our gardens while looking for wildlife. Join us for self-guided scavenger hunts with small, free giveaways. |
