Cool Crafts
April 9, May 14, June 11, July 9, and August 13 Next date: Thursday, June 11 2nd Thursday of the Month from April through August 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM Free admission and onsite parking. No reservations required. At our Cool Crafts Roundup, participants will get the opportunity to hear stories, roll up their sleeves, and be creative! Crafts and stories are inspired by the environment around the Rancho and offer a multitude of perspectives to create a meaningful and engaging experience. New hands-on activities every month. Open to all ages. First come, first served basis. |

Storytime on the Barns Lawn
June 18, July 16, and August 20 Next date: Thursday June 18 Every third Thursday of the month from June through August 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Free admission and onsite parking with RSVP. Bring a blanket and join us outdoors on our Barns Lawn for an engaging storytime experience featuring themed stories for young learners. Stories will be inspired by the Rancho’s animals and nature. Families will also be invited to explore sensory play bins designed for hands-on discovery. This free program with RSVP is recommended for 2 – 5 years old and their caregivers. |

Jewel Box Children's Theater Presents
Charlotte's Web Performances Thursday, June 18 and Sunday, June 21 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Rancho's Stallion Barn and Barns Lawn Free admission with reservation, $10 for parking; Carpooling and ride sharing encouraged. Jewel Box Children’s Theater is excited to be producing Charlotte’s Web written by E.B. White and adapted by Joseph Robinette. Rancho Los Alamitos will host performances on June 18 and 21 on 5pm on our Barns Lawn. Reservations are required to attend. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blanket or chairs. Outside food is permitted, please no glass bottles. |

In the Gardens of California's Prison Landscapes
Exploration Talk Thursday, June 25 Doors open at 5:30 PM; 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM $10 per person, Free for Members Free onsite parking. Based on Dr. Elizabeth Lara’s ethnographic research exploring relationships among people, plants, and prisons, this talk will focus on a series of iconic Californian landscapes. Dr. Lara’s work is concerned with the role of horticulture in public heritage sites that highlight distinct histories of incarceration, including Alcatraz Island and Manzanar. The talk will also feature discussion of the work of Land Together, an organization that for over twenty years has been growing gardens in prisons to support the wellbeing and liberation of people impacted by incarceration. Dr. Elizabeth Lara currently works as a freelance gardener, a garden educator, and a facilitator for a domestic violence intervention program. |

Summer Concert Series
Sunday, June 28, and Sunday, August 23 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM; Doors open at 4:30 PM $8 per adult, $5 per child, free for children 2 and younger; Admission includes parking and shuttle service at CSULB Lot G13. Rancho Los Alamitos presents our 4th Annual Summer Concert Series! Grab your lawn chairs or blankets and pack a picnic dinner. Join us for a night with family and friends amid our lush historic grounds. We're excited to announce that we're partnering with the Long Beach Blues Society for our musical acts. The Bill Grisolia Band will perform the blues on June 28th. The Blues Society All Stars will play on August 23rd. Parking for each concert is at CSULB Lot G13, located on the corner of Atherton Street and Palo Verde Ave. We will have a shuttle service running up to and from the Rancho. We will not have onsite parking at the Rancho parking lot. Doors open and the shuttle service begins at 4:30 pm, and the event will end at 7:00 pm. We will stop the shuttle service from the Lot G13 at 6:30 pm. When the event concludes, we will have the shuttle running continuously from the Rancho back to the parking lot. Forest Bathing: A Sensory Experience
Saturday, August 1 - A FEW SPOTS LEFT Save the date: Sunday, September 20 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM $30 per person, $25 per member; per session Free onsite parking. All materials included. Join us for a guided sensory experience with certified Forest Therapy Guide, Meghan Pinyan. Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, forest bathing means taking in nature through your senses. These slow and mindful walks offer an immersive sensory experience to explore your unique relationship with the earth. The walk begins with a grounding exploration to awaken the senses, followed by a series of crafted invitations to wander using your senses to explore the natural world. The walks are slow and at a gentle pace with periods of silence and reflection. The group will conclude with tea and snacks. Participants are encouraged to bring a blanket, yoga mat, or chair. Due to the slow and meditative nature of this walk, it is recommended for those for ages 16 years and up. Reoccurring program, more dates to come soon. Returning participants to this program can use the code FORESTFRIEND2026 for a $5 discount. |

Tennis on the Historic Court: Community Play
Save the date! Sunday, August 9th Want to play tennis on the Rancho’s historic court? Now is your chance. Join us for a special, one-of-a-kind morning of tennis on our historic court, surrounded by our beautiful gardens. Select a one-hour reservation session and participate in relaxed, community-style play. 562 Tennis coaches Rachael Stone and Mercy Tran will organize games, rotate players, and ensure everyone has a chance to play on the court. After your session, you are welcome to stay and enjoy the grounds to socialize and take in the historic gardens. |
